African Americans in Mental Health Assignment :Students will be expected to develop a power point project that examines a core area covered in the course related to multicultural counseling. The project must use a PowerPoint format in Microsoft Word (no other formats will be excepted). The project will provide a comprehensive critical analytic analysis of a selected topic related to multicultural counseling (e.g., How do you understand the role of cultural worldviews and values in multicultural counseling based on key concepts learned in the course?) The 10-page power point project will have six sections:

(1) Title, (2) Introduction, (3) Literature Review, (4) Critical Analytical Framework, (5) Conclusions, and (6) References. The title page (1 page) will provide the title of the project, course title (Multicultural Counseling), student name, and date (1 page) African Americans in Mental Health Assignment

The Introduction section (2 pages) will provide the background and significance of the selected topic for the project (e.g., Why is this topic relevant for US society today?). The Literature Review section (2 pages) will provide a brief overview of pertinent research for the selected topic of the project. The Critical Analytical Framework section (2 pages) will provide an in-depth critical analysis of the selected area of multicultural counseling based on key concepts from course readings. The Conclusions section (2 pages) will provide a summation of key issues examined in the project and policy recommendations that will address the selected area related to multicultural counseling. The References section will list all key citations used in the development of the project in APA or MLA style (1 page).

The project will have at least 6 citations. The projects should be thoughtfully prepared and demonstrate an intellectual understanding of theoretical/key concepts, critical analysis of the readings, organization and development of the project, as well as grammar/syntax.
