Nicholas Carr is an American writer who has published books and articles on technology,
business, and culture. In his article entitled “IT Doesn’t matter”, he states that technology has
become a commodity and in and of itself, does not provide a strategic advantage to
organizations. It is inexpensive, ubiquitous and on the firm level, provides little as an advantage
over rivals. It is how, when and where technology is used that makes the difference.
We often hear the word technology but find it difficult to explain.
