EEM 601 Statistical Data Analysis Assignment The objective of the Term Project is to provide the students with the chance of working in a less
bounded environment wherein they apply the knowledge acquired in this course towards the
following potential objectives:
1. Acquire a better understanding of the practical parameters of the Engineering
Environments they are currently working in or likely to encounter in their careers.
2. Investigate potential research areas to further embark on with their Master’s dissertation.
3. Pinpoint possible drawbacks in existing Engineering Designs/practices and hence paving
the way towards making contributions towards their solutions/enhancements.
Planning
In order to provide more flexibility, the students may choose one of the following tracks:
Track A: Students who are currently working in Engineering Environments or have a practical
Engineering background may choose to apply the various tools of this course on practical data they
may have available from their work places towards one or more of the above mentioned objectives.
Track B: Freshly graduated students may select to provide a critical summary of a paper for the
open literature that applies the tools of this course to their engineering topic of interest.
Requirement
Each student from both tracks will have to submit a well-structured and plagiarism-free report
(within a maximum of 20 pages) during the last week of the course. In addition, he/she will have to
provide a 20-min presentation of his/her work. EEM 601 Statistical Data Analysis Assignment
