Final Paper Assignment – GEO 1010

~This project is intended to be a capstone of the course, bringing together many of the themes covered throughout the semester.

In an effort to allow for creativity, autonomy, and perhaps a little bit of fun, the project has four primary stages:

1) Locate and research ​five​ locations in around the world on three​ different continents to take a theoretical journey. It is highly advised that there be a theme to the choices of where to go. (For example religion, sports, or politics could serve as primary themes for selecting the locations).

2. 2)  Establish the geographic significance of each stop along the journey. Why will you go there? This requires additional research beyond the books in the class. It is highly recommended that students utilize at least one monograph and a few shorter sources for each location.
3. 3)  The paper will be 10-15 pages in length, double-spaced, size 12 font, with 1 inch margins all around. The paper should contain at least four (4) academic references from scholarly journals or books exploring the geographic characteristics of the locations visited.
4. 4)  The paper is due in my inbox (​jonesgr@grace.edu​) on the day it is listed due online. Unlike other assignments, I cannot accept this late as it is the end of the term and I need to grade it before grades are due.
