Guns on Campus Essay Despite several limitations encountered during the research, the findings indicated that
those students who attend colleges where guns are readily available are subject to high risk of
firearm victimization. The risk is further elevated in case a student has a gun in school in school
thus distracting some students.
The study has some limitations which included the cross-sectional analysis which could
only describe associations rather than causation. Second, the data used for the research comes
from the survey conducted, and sample surveys are usually subject to sampling errors; for each
question, an error margin of +1% is encountered for a sample of 10,000 which results from the
chance variation of the model. Third, although the participants were randomly selected, the

defensive use of a firearm. Considering the possession of firearms in the campus by students
compels them to engage disproportionally in conducts that put themselves and other people at
risk of injury, the findings conclusively suggest that, guns should not be allowed on campus as
they can be a source of distraction to some students.
