Conduct an interview of a person who is in that time period of development that you selected. For
example if you want to focus on early childhood and the child is 5 years old, you would interview a 5
year old or you could select to interview someone who is in their 20’s, 40’s, 70’s, etc. The interview

You can complete the interview over the phone, or via a video conferencing platform like Zoom or with
an immediate family member that is living with you. Do not meet an individual in person, as everyone
needs to follow the covid mandated rules of the State of New Jersey. You should only be conducting
your interview via phone, video chatting/conferencing (Zoom) or with those that you live with you and
who you have immediate contact with. This assignment is designed so you never physical meet with the
individual you are interviewing.
You need to create a list of at least 20 questions you want to ask the individual. (For example: What is
your favorite outdoor activity? Do you like to draw? At what age did you start your first job? How do
you get along with…etc. What was it like growing up and going to school in the city?) You need to type
up at least 20 questions and the individual’s answers to the questions, as will submitting the questions
and the answers with your paper. You can paraphrase the individual’s answers. They do not need to be

You need to write a 2 to 3 page summary of information gathered from your interview. You must use at
least 20 concepts and definitions in your paper that have covered in class and the textbook to explain
and describe this period of development. Make sure to bold the terms in your paper that you use. (For
example when you interviewed a 5 year old, they talked about drawing as their favorite activity. You
would use the concept/term fine motor skills in your paper tp explain that drawing was their favorite
hobby. Another example is when you asked a 40 year old about their job or lifestyle you could connect
the information to Erikson’s 8 stages of development.)
You need to use the textbook, a scholarly article and one additional internet source to support the
information you have gathered from the interview. Do not use Wikipedia or a blog as a reference.
Please make sure you proof read your papers for spelling and grammar errors. Make sure to use Times
Roman 12 point font with one inch margins.
Make sure to include all references in correct APA format.
