Preparation Report Essay The students will complete the first summative assessment by Week 12. The
aim of this preliminary report is to define the targets and feasibility of the project
and establish the detailed plan to successfully achieve the targets on time. In
general, this report will include the fundamental elements for the completion of
the capstone project:
x Master plan, Milestones and Project weekly plan,
x Estimation of the resources needed,
x Key performance indicators,
x Risk analysis and contingency plan,
x Feasibility study.
In the first weeks of the module, the student will receive a format for the key
elements (like project plan, risk analysis, feasibility), and also a “one pager
format” that contains the basic required information for the consecution of the
preliminary report. The one pager will be worked out and filled in by the student
and reviewed with the tutor in the weekly follow up classes. All this information
is also found in Blackboard.

Formally, the preliminary report shall include four elements:
x One pager with the basic information of the project
o Resources needed
o Milestones and master plan
o Team (in applicable)
o Key performance indicators
x Project Plan. Detailed weekly plan of the action, structured as per the
required milestones and deliverables. The project plan will include an
analysis of the resources availability and explicitly indicate critical path
and critical actions
x Risk analysis and contingency plan. Every venture has certain risks of
failure. To assure success, these possible events need to be anticipated
and mitigation strategies need to be defined in order to reduce their

x Business plan. Financial feasibility. Business ideas need to be developed
through a clear and profitable business model. Sometimes, the
entrepreneur is in many cases more focused in the operational aspect of
the venture than in the way the idea is brought to the customer, how to
find the optimal added value and the identification of the profit drivers.
You will be asked to seek ethical approval for your preparation report. For the

The report should be submitted through Blackboard and in a single Hardcopy
that should be handed in at MIUC Reception. The assignment is due in week 12
(specific date to be announced). Both Blackboard and hard copies are
compulsory in order to consider the assignment as submitted. If one of the
submissions was missing, the assessment will be marked as non-submission.
