Then watch the 2005 version of War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. (You are not required to watch the entire movie, but it’s pretty good so try it to). Make notes on the references to the movie which are similar to the radio broadcast.
Write a one to two page comparison paper addressing the impact this form of media had on society at that time. Do you think such an event could happen again? Comment on the power of the media in relation to this occurrence. Formulate a comparison between the radio broadcast and the modern motion picture. Which one is more believable?
