Terrorism in Iraq Essay

Iraq was ruled by Ba’ath party since 1968 to 2003. It was a very simple party which cared only for loyalty. Saddam Hussein became President from 1979 and with him came a lot of different ideas from how Ba’ath was initially led. In the 1970’s and 1980’s, there were very good connections with the western countries mainly the Eastern Europe and US, but things started changing when Saddam Hussein got to power. What followed was numerous sanctions which affected a lot of people in Iraq since they could no longer access important social amenities like food, shelter or medicine.  A lot of them started moving out of the country. It reached a point where the US, under the rule of George W. Bush invaded Iraq with the notion that it had weapons of mass destruction. Things were never the same.

Terrorism in Iraq Essay
In as much as terrorism in Iraq started a while back, there are various factors that are keeping it afloat even now. The first one is radicalization. That is especially with the youth who are made to believe that they are excluded in the political scene and that their issues are not being addressed. They are made to believe that they are the only ones who can take that power back. First there is the aspect of exclusion, and that gives them the need to seek for identity, revenge, status or even thrill. In doing that, they believe that they are forming their own identity, and some will do it with friends they seem to relate with.
